Description
Historically called a Bergere (Shepherdess), this hat base is flat brimmed with a shallow crown. It could be worn in various ways with the brim folded back or turned up or down at whim. It is also sometimes called a milkmaid hat. The base and crown are made from heavily stiffened windowpane sinamay with a finished edge. The diameter of the brim is 17-18 inches (431.8 – 457.2 mm) and the diameter of the crown is 6 inches (152.4mm). The hat bases come in either a solid color or two toned.
