Description
Milliners needles, also known as Straw needles, are longer than their Sharps counterparts. Needle sizes get finer as the needle number gets larger. So a #1 needle is larger than the #11 needle. For milliners, a good starting needle is a Size 7.
The eye of the needle is designed for easy threading and is polished thoroughly to prevent snagging. They are favored by milliners and are also popular for embroidery or when used in the art of pleating and creating decorative needlework.
